The Operations Manager is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and works in close partnership with the General Manager to deliver the strategic objectives, financial targets, operational excellence standards, and people strategy of Gateway Hotel and Calusade Hotels.
The role is responsible for driving commercial performance, exceptional guest experiences, employee engagement, departmental accountability, and continuous improvement across all operational areas of the hotel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibility Area Detail Operational Leadership & Department Management Support the General Manager in delivering the hotel strategic objectives and operational goals.
Lead and coordinate all operational departments, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all departments to enhance guest satisfaction, employee engagement and business performance.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are developed, implemented, reviewed and consistently applied throughout the hotel.
Conduct regular operational audits and implement corrective action plans where required.
Monitor departmental performance and support Heads of Department in achieving agreed KPIs, budgets and operational objectives.
Guest Experience & Service Excellence Ensure exceptional guest service standards are delivered throughout the hotel at all times.
Lead service recovery initiatives and ensure prompt and effective resolution of guest complaints and concerns.
Monitor and improve online reputation scores across all guest feedback platforms, including Revinate, TripAdvisor.
Drive performance in mystery guest audits and guest satisfaction surveys.
Promote guest loyalty initiatives and encourage a culture of personalised guest experiences.
Financial & Commercial Management Support the General Manager in achieving budgeted revenue, GOP and profitability targets.
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and business plans.
Monitor payroll percentages, labour productivity and departmental wage costs to ensure alignment with budget expectations.
Drive departmental productivity and operational efficiencies while maintaining service standards.
Analyse financial performance and implement corrective actions where required.
Support commercial decision-making through performance analysis, forecasting and business insight.
Identify opportunities to maximise revenue and improve profitability across all operational departments., People Leadership & Team Development, Lead, coach and support Heads of Department and operational teams to achieve business objectives People Leadership & Team Development Partner with the People & Culture team to deliver the hotel's people strategy and employee engagement initiatives.
Develop succession plans for key operational positions and identify future leaders within the business.
Support leadership development programmes and create opportunities for career progression.
Drive talent management, performance management and employee development processes.
Foster a culture of accountability, recognition, collaboration and continuous learning.
Support recruitment, onboarding and retention initiatives to ensure the hotel attracts and retains top talent.
Ensure all departments operate in compliance with Calusade Hotels standards, policies and procedures.
Quality, Compliance & Standards Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, Fire Safety, Employment Legislation, GDPR and all statutory requirements.
Support achievement of quality accreditations, industry awards and operational excellence benchmarks 3.
CANDIDATE PROFILE Minimum 35 years experience in a senior hotel management role.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and organisational ability.
Strong financial awareness and operational understanding.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience with HotSoft or similar PMS systems.
Hospitality Management qualification.
Experience within a quality-focused hospitality environment with a proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.
