- Friday Competitive Salary and Benefits Package (DoE) Optimize Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing and production business within the FMCG sector, to recruit an experienced NPD Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative organization with multiple production facilities, playing a key role in bringing new products from concept through to commercial launch .
The Successful Candidate Will Have: A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a related discipline.
3+ Years Experience in a New Product Development role within the food or beverage industry.
Strong knowledge of product development processes, food legislation and FMCG manufacturing environments.
Proven people management and project management experience.
Excellent communication, organizational and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
Good understanding of beverage development and formulation (advantageous).
Responsibilities & Duties: Lead and manage the New Product Development function across multiple manufacturing sites.
Drive the development of innovative, safe, stable and commercially viable products from concept through to launch.
Collaborate closely with Commercial, Operations, Procurement and Quality teams to achieve business objectives.
Manage and mentor the NPD team, providing training, support and performance guidance.
Lead production trials, product launches and process improvement initiatives.
Manage cross-functional projects to ensure successful delivery against timelines and customer requirements.
Develop recipes and formulations that meet customer briefs, regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Maintain and improve NPD procedures and documentation, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
Oversee artwork approval processes and ensure compliance with relevant food legislation.
Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Monitor market trends, ingredients and emerging technologies to support innovation.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers and internal teams.
Represent the NPD department during customer meetings, audits and site visits.
Act as a key member of HACCP and sensory evaluation activities across the business.
Support the commissioning of new equipment and production lines as required.
