* Build, reconfigure, and maintain data center environments (compute, storage, virtualization, networking).
* Administer VMware platforms (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, clusters, updates, performance tuning).
* Own and improve backup architecture and recovery processes:
* Design backup strategies aligned to recovery objectives (RPO and RTO)
* Maintain backup jobs, retention, monitoring, and alerting
* Troubleshoot backup failures and performance issues
* Perform restore testing and recovery validation on a regular schedule
* Support disaster recovery planning, documentation, and periodic testing
* Troubleshoot and support networking (VLANs, switching, routing basics, firewall fundamentals, VPNs).
* Support systems that rely on databases and reporting with working SQL knowledge (read queries, validate results, assist troubleshooting).
* Improve operations through documentation, standardization, and automation where it makes sense.
* Participate in an on-call rotation (we focus on fixing root causes so on-call stays reasonable).
*What We Are Looking ForMust-Haves*
* Strong hands-on VMware experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting.
* Strong networking fundamentals (VLANs, switching, routing, NAT, firewall concepts, VPNs).
* Experience working in data center environments (rack and stack, cabling standards, hardware lifecycle).
* Experience with backups and recovery practices, including restore testing.
* Working SQL knowledge for troubleshooting and validation.
* Clear communicator who stays calm under pressure and works well with others.
*Nice-to-Haves*
* Storage experience (SAN or NAS, iSCSI or Fibre Channel, performance tuning).
* Windows Server and or Linux administration.
* Automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible).
* Familiarity with immutable backups or ransomware resilient recovery patterns.
* Relevant certifications (VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA).
