Financial Controller Location: Waterford Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive + Benefits About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Financial Controller to lead the finance function and support the continued growth of the business.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and ensuring robust financial controls across the organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional looking to take ownership of a broad finance remit within a dynamic and growing business.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the day-to-day finance function.
Prepare monthly management accounts and provide insightful financial analysis.
Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management.
Manage annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
Monitor and optimise cashflow, working capital, and treasury activities.
Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements.
Coordinate and manage the annual audit process.
Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
Partner with operational and commercial teams to support strategic decision-making.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and systems.
Manage and mentor the finance team, supporting their professional development.
Oversee payroll, VAT, corporation tax, and other compliance obligations.
Support business planning, investment decisions, and growth initiatives.
Candidate Requirements Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
5+ years' post-qualified experience with experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Finance role.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
Experience managing audits and statutory compliance requirements.
Excellent budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning skills.
Strong systems experience with ERP/accounting software.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Experience Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, engineering, construction, or multi-site environments.
Exposure to ERP implementations and finance transformation projects.
Experience leading process improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards.
