Laois Talent Curve Recruitment is managing a search for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a premier, high-volume manufacturing facility based in County Laois.
This is a permanent, day-shift position focused on maintaining site mechanical infrastructure, ensuring high-speed production line reliability, and driving mechanical optimisations.
Core Responsibilities PPM & Reactive Repairs: Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and deliver rapid reactive troubleshooting on manufacturing systems, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Fault Diagnosis: Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults on high-speed production machinery, pumps, gearboxes, and power transmissions.
Fabrication & Welding: Perform on-site fabrication, structural modifications, and basic MIG/Stick welding repairs for equipment upgrades.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere strictly to site safety plans, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) protocols, and regulatory EHS standards.
Documentation: Log all maintenance tasks, reactive interventions, and spare parts usage accurately within the site's CMMS.
Candidate Profile Qualification: Fully qualified Fitter or Mechanical Technician (National Craft Certificate, SOLAS, or equivalent Advanced Craft trade qualification).
Experience: 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, food processing, or industrial environment.
Technical Skills: Exceptional hands-on fault-finding skills in mechanical systems, fluid power, and reading technical schematics.
Credentials: Valid Safe Pass, Manual Handling certificate, and a proactive attitude toward safety.
Logistics: Full, clean Irish/EU driving licence and proximity to County Laois.
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate: €23.00 €28.00 per hour (Negotiable based on experience).
Shift Pattern: Standard Day Shift (Monday Friday, promoting excellent work-life balance).
Location: County Laois, Ireland.
