As Group Financial Controller, you will be a key member of the senior finance team, driving financial reporting, controls, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
You will lead a large finance team, working closely with the CFO and Group Cost Accountant to support strategic decision-making and business development.
Responsibilities Financial Reporting Lead the preparation and analysis of Group Financial Statements to strict deadlines, including trading updates and commentary papers for stakeholders.
Forecasting Take ownership of financial forecasts for the group and its subsidiary companies.
Team Leadership Manage and develop large accounting teams, providing guidance on technical accounting matters and ensuring ongoing training and professional development.
Audit & Compliance Oversee the annual external audit engagement, ensuring timely completion and that all statutory requirements are met.
Financial Controls Ensure robust financial controls are in place and consistently applied across the group.
Continuous Improvement Identify and lead projects to enhance finance processes, leveraging technology and systems to improve efficiency, customer service, and the control environment.
Stakeholder Engagement Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, providing support to business development activities as required.
Requirements Essential Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Minimum 10 years' post-qualification experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the construction sector Strong technical accounting expertise Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Experience managing external audit relationships Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines Desirable Strong commercial acumen with a track record on commercial projects Good working knowledge of Irish tax legislation Experience in complex, multi-entity group structures Project management and delivery experience Personal Attributes Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills Ability to build positive relationships at all levels Initiative, problem-solving ability, and a strong record of achievement Remuneration Up to €140,000 plus bonus & benefits Contact Rachel Tubridy on or email PeopleSource is a finance and accounting recruitment firm.
