This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a growing commercial team and play a key role in the successful delivery of projects from pre-construction through to handover.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, managing tender submissions, identifying commercial opportunities, and supporting the overall growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the estimating and pre-construction process.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction and modular building projects.
Analyse drawings, specifications, tender documents, and project requirements.
Develop comprehensive bid submissions and tender proposals.
Present estimates and commercial assessments to senior management.
Monitor project costs throughout the tender process to ensure competitiveness.
Manage and mentor junior estimating staff.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate quotations and pricing.
Prepare project cost reports and payment applications where required.
Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
Assess project risks and incorporate appropriate contingencies.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
Support business development initiatives and identify new project opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of estimates, assumptions, and supporting documentation.
Stay informed on market trends, material pricing, and industry developments.
Requirements Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 57 years' experience in an Estimating role within the construction sector.
Previous experience within modular construction would be a distinct advantage.
Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills.
Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
