Fiber Technician Trainee BBOSS - Baker & Busby Optical Systems Service Job Type Full-Time Compensation Production-Based Pay (Not Hourly) Position Overview BBOSS is seeking motivated individuals to join our growing fiber optic team as a Fiber Technician Trainee. No prior fiber optic experience is required. We are willing to train hardworking, dependable individuals who are eager to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career in the telecommunications industry. This position involves outdoor work, travel, hands-on training, and the opportunity to advance into fiber splicing and testing roles. What You'll Learn Fiber optic installation Fiber splicing fundamentals Fiber testing procedures Telecommunications construction practices Safety procedures and jobsite operations Utility and right-of-way work Equipment and tool operation Responsibilities Assist fiber technicians and splicers in the field Help prepare and organize job sites Handle and install fiber optic cable Assist with fiber testing and troubleshooting Maintain company tools and equipment Follow all safety requirements Travel to project locations as needed Complete assigned tasks and production goals Qualifications No experience required Valid driver's license preferred Reliable transportation Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Ability to lift 50+ pounds Willingness to travel Strong work ethic and positive attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is a plus but not required: Construction Utilities Telecommunications Electrical work Outdoor labor Equipment operation What We Offer Paid on-the-job training Advancement opportunities Production-based earning potential Travel opportunities Opportunity to learn a high-demand trade Team-oriented work environment Why Work for BBOSS?
