Working remotely on a contract basis, the Advisory Business Intelligence Engineer will design and implement enterprise-grade semantic models using Databricks, mentor junior engineers, and advise leadership on data practices. Key responsibilities
Lead the design and development of enterprise semantic layers utilizing Databricks Lakehouse and Unity Catalog Provide hands-on development in SQL and Python, focusing on complex transformations and model optimization Mentor junior BI engineers and act as a trusted advisor on BI architecture and data governance
Required qualifications
8-12 years of experience in Business Intelligence Engineering, Data Engineering, or Analytics Engineering Deep expertise in Databricks, including Lakehouse architecture and Unity Catalog Strong command of SQL, Python, and CI/CD workflows Proven experience building enterprise semantic layers and dimensional models using Kimball principles Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence architectural decisions
