Data Engineer (multiple positions) - Plano, TX Responsible for all activities related to the analysis, architecture, design, and implementation of new or modified application software for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) solutions, including data lake, data marts, and data warehouses, primarily within the banking, financial services, and insurance domains.
Design and develop ETL and big data applications, scripts, queries, reports, and other automated procedures. Utilize ETL and big data tools (Ab Initio, Hadoop, Hive) and technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle tools, Microsoft SSIS, SSDT, and data governance tools (Ab Initio Enterprise Metadata Hub, Data Quality). Apply experience in Azure Cloud along with Azure Databricks and Azure Notebook.
Interact with clients to clarify business requirements and key operations. Develop technical specifications for software applications and provide quick resolution to production incidents and problems. Communicate project status, requirements, issues, risks, and assumptions effectively to end clients, business teams, and development resources.
Apply management and technical expertise in distributed and legacy technologies to lead and coordinate the overall activities of distributed software engineering and development resources. Establish the feasibility of application development and delivery plans.
Education:
A Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, sciences, mathematics, or a related field plus at least two years of relevant experience in software engineering or a related occupation. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, sciences, mathematics, or a related field plus at least five years of progressively responsible post‑Bachelor’s experience.
Location:
Position headquartered in Plano, TX with national project site assignments within the United States; no additional travel required.
Compensation:
$156,998 to $164,847 per year.
