Lead a team of 15+ technicians, providing leadership and guidance to deliver company results. Meet one‑on‑one with direct reports to provide coaching, mentoring, and help them find solutions. Retrieve, review, and monitor metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and training or safety records to analyze team productivity and follow up as needed to improve maintenance and repair efficiency. Travel frequently to technician and customer locations. Participate in and/or lead regular meetings with market team members across dispatch, parts, billing, and other functions. Monitor operations to ensure technicians comply with administrative & DOT policies, safety rules, environmental and government regulations, and organizational standards. Perform onboarding activities for technicians, including equipment requests, new‑hire documentation, and system access. Conduct regular safety audits and Quality Control Inspections (QCIs). Assist in developing or adhering to a monthly budget. Coordinate with market team members to set goals and strategies for improving team and market productivity. Collaborate with dispatch and sales to ensure each technician has a full schedule daily. Delegate work when unscheduled repair calls occur and coordinate with internal teams. Participate in regular safety meetings to review safety information and reinforce company culture. Implement safety processes and procedures and monitor technicians’ adherence. Provide guidance and expert advice on technical, systems, or process topics to management, subordinates, or customers. Collaborate with customers to provide solutions that meet vehicle maintenance requirements. Act as liaison between Cox Fleet technicians and customers. Facilitate communication and problem solving across departments to resolve issues. Provide technicians with standard and emergency operating procedures for maintenance, replacement, and repair work. Monitor inventory levels of equipment, parts, or tools across technicians. Interview, select, and train new technicians. Work across Cox Fleet organizations (HR, Parts/Procurement, Fleet Management, IT) to resolve role‑related items. Operate a company‑issued vehicle to travel to technicians and customer locations. Perform technician duties such as preventive maintenance or parts repairs as needed to model best practices. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years of related experience (alternative combinations: master’s with 4 years, Ph.D. with 1 year, or 10 years). At least 1 year of experience in a management or lead role. Safe driver with a 3‑year MVR review; valid state driver’s license and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File. Minimum age 21 years. Skills in coaching, mentoring, teaching, discipline, difficult conversations, and tough‑love communication. Knowledge of mobile work environment and maintenance practices. Ability to coordinate multiple group efforts to solve technician‑related issues. High sense of urgency. Required Competencies
