Key Responsibilities
Develop and apply AI technologies, including computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning, to solve complex signal processing problems and field innovative solutions.
Engage in every phase of the system development lifecycle: requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration, and flight test.
Take ownership of critical tasks and lead technical teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
Participate in the development of proposals and whitepapers to secure funding for AI research and development projects.
Technical Leadership and Mentorship
Assume technical lead responsibilities and mentor junior engineers, helping them develop skills and expertise.
Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure successful project execution.
Collaboration and Communication
Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to develop and deploy AI solutions.
Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to non‑technical stakeholders.
Engage with other Lockheed Martin teams to identify opportunities for AI adoption and application.
Technical Skills
Strong background in software engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
Strong background in signal processing theory and application (radar, communication, electronic warfare, sonar, audio, or biomedical).
Experience with current AI paradigms: computer vision, deep learning, reinforcement learning.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
Soft Skills
Self‑motivation, strong work ethic, and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
5+ years of experience in AI or a related field.
Experience developing with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, Keras, etc.).
Experience with Python and libraries such as NumPy, OpenCV, scikit‑learn, Pandas, SciPy, etc.
Experience with AI/ML for signal processing applications such as radar, communication, electronic warfare, sonar, audio, or biomedical.
Desired Skills
Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline with specialization in Artificial Intelligence.
Experience applying AI/ML to mature, complex software systems.
Experience with RF signal processing, analog and digital signal processing, and radar, communication, electronic warfare, sonar systems.
Experience with multiple sensing modalities including full motion video in EO and IR, passive and active radio frequency, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), and state‑of‑the‑art novel sensing techniques.
Broad experience applying AI across multiple lines of business and customer programs in a large enterprise or government position.
Familiarity with software‑defined radios.
Experience training deep neural networks and other AI algorithms.
Experience leading engineering teams.
Experience developing and presenting briefs and proposals for government agencies.
Experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Git, CI/CD, unit testing frameworks such as Pytest, Unittest.
Experience with C++, Java, and other compiled languages.
Active U.S. DoD security clearance; must be a U.S. Citizen.
Security Clearance Requires a government security clearance. Must possess an active U.S. DoD security clearance and be a U.S. Citizen. Clearance level: Secret.
Location and Work Schedule The preferred work locations for this position are Lockheed Martin facilities in Fort Worth, TX, or Palmdale, CA. Remote work arrangements may also be considered for qualified candidates.
Work Schedules: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Part‑time remote telework is available; the specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Compensation and Benefits Annual base salary range (excluding major metropolitan areas): $132,900–$234,370. Salary range may vary by state. Incentive plan eligible.
