Network Engineer – Power Systems (OT)
As a Network Engineer – Power Systems (OT), you will be responsible for providing expert technical support and power system automation solutions. Your role will involve teaching, advising, and supporting customers to ensure the reliability and safety of power grids. Responsibilities
Provide technical support and solutions for power system automation and controls. Teach, advise, and train customers on SEL products, including on-site visits, demonstrations, and phone support. Apply principles, theories, and standard techniques to solve complex problems in power system communications. Contribute to product specifications, application and testing software, and related literature. Support SEL product troubleshooting to determine root causes of issues. Participate in marketing and sales activities, industry technical meetings, and conferences. Review and contribute to white papers, application guides, industrial journals, and technical papers. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SONET technology, TDM interfaces (e.g., C37.94), Ethernet, fiber links, radio connections, IP systems, switches, routers, LAN/WAN networks, servers, and TCP/IP. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (master’s preferred). Minimum of 3 years of experience with power system automation and controls. Experience and knowledge of wired protection and control network communications systems, including TDM and Ethernet technologies, fiber optic, microwave, and spread‑sphere radio. Familiarity with communications test sets, analyzers, time synchronization and distribution, and industry network design and security practices. Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills. Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a desire to learn new technologies. Independent and team‑oriented work style. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Desire to learn how power systems transmit and receive information between protective devices and operational systems. Travel: up to 25% of the time. Locations: King of Prussia, PA and Nashua, NH. Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $84,200 – $160,000 per year, determined by job, responsibility, and location.
