Work with the Commercial Products Technology Team to develop detectors for harsh environment applications. Develop and/or review detailed component and system designs to meet new product specifications. Ensure component and system designs are analytically robust, empirically tested, and verified. Apply DFSS and DFM rigor throughout the design process in collaboration with other Technology team members and other functions. Coordinate multiple project tasks with project managers and functional managers. Work directly with the Product Line Leader, Quality, Manufacturing, and other Functional Teams to ensure products meet internal and external requirements from start to finish and provide for continued growth of the product line. Foster a creative environment; allow new ideas while embracing speed and excellence. Leverage, expand, and create design best practices. Support technical discussions with customers as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or similar field. 2–3 years experience in Design Engineering (Sensors Design preferred). Experience with New Product Design. Experience with a CAD package (SolidWorks preferred). Experience with an ERP system such as SAP a plus. Experience with product development processes (Stage‑Gate preferred). Problem solving, translation of cross‑functional inputs into design outputs, design for regulatory compliance and product safety, requirements decomposition, technical report authorship. Professional certifications held or in progress are a plus (FE, EIT, PE, or other). Additional Information
