Crane Nuclear has an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer, Nuclear onsite in our Twinsburg, OH location. Responsibilities
Work with a cross‑functional engineering team to maintain and develop products for the Reuter‑Stokes Nuclear product line, either as improvements to existing designs or as part of new product development. Develop and/or review detailed component and system designs to meet new product specifications. Ensure component and system designs are analytically robust, empirically tested and verified. Apply proper DFSS and DFM rigor throughout the design process, in collaboration with other technology team members and other functions. Coordinate multiple project tasks with project managers and functional managers. Work directly with the respective Product Line Leader, Quality, Manufacturing, and other Functional Teams to ensure products meet internal and external requirements, from start to finish, and support continued growth of the product line. Foster a creative environment; allow new ideas while embracing speed and excellence. Leverage, expand, and create design best practices. Support technical discussions with customers as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 2–3 years of design engineering experience (sensor design preferred). Experience with new product design is a plus. Experience with a CAD package (SolidWorks preferred). Experience with an ERP system such as SAP is a plus. Experience with product development processes (Stage‑Gate preferred). Problem solving, translation of cross‑functional inputs into design outputs, design for regulatory compliance and product safety, requirements decomposition, and technical report authorship. Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field required. Professional certifications held or in progress (FE, EIT, PE, or other) are a plus. Benefits
