Role Overview
– The
Mobile Service Technician
is responsible for traveling to client locations to diagnose, maintain, and repair Lucid Motors vehicles in the field. Lucid provides a service van or truck and all required tools. The position works independently and in a team as needed, with support from the nearest service location. The technician demonstrates passion for sustainable transportation, creatively solves problems in a fast‑paced environment, and is expected to obtain ASE certifications within 6‑8 months of hire. Lucid will reimburse the associated cost upon successful completion.
Responsibilities
Function as a Service Advisor and perform parts department duties including ordering, returns, and inventory management.
Work directly with clients to provide a high level of customer experience.
Effectively use the appropriate software suite to properly and completely document all customer vehicle interactions.
Maintain a high knowledge level of High Voltage (HV), Low Voltage (LV), and general Electric Vehicle (EV) systems.
Properly perform the walk‑around and write‑up processes, accurately ascertaining primary concern through verbal interview and visual assessment to assess client needs.
Accurately document client concerns for diagnosis and repair.
Follow correct repair order documentation procedures, i.e. The Three C’s.
Invoice and collect payment.
Perform customer service duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments (where needed), and calling customers to update them on repair status or to follow up after repairs are completed.
Review appointment schedule to plan travel time and visit duration for mobile services.
Provide support at Service Center based on demand.
Travel within assigned territory and other service locations as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
2‑5 years of experience as an automotive service technician.
Self‑sufficient, highly organized, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of High Voltage systems, Low Voltage systems, and Electric Vehicle powertrain.
Customer‑facing experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn proprietary DMS software.
EPA 609 Certification.
Willingness to complete Lucid‑provided CPR training post‑hire.
Valid driver’s license with no suspensions within the past year. Drivers under 21 must have maintained a driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years and successfully complete Lucid Training upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
ASE Certifications (A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, L3, L4 – ADAS).
Previous experience with EV diagnosis and repair.
Experience in luxury automobile repair environments.
Compensation Range Base Pay Range (hourly): $35 – $43 USD.
