The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is seeking creative, outgoing, and social media‑savvy students to join our Student Content Creator Ambassador Program. This role is ideal for students who are passionate about sharing their American University experience through engaging digital content and storytelling. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Marketing, Content Creator Ambassadors serve as authentic student voices for prospective and admitted students by creating videos, photos, and social media content that highlight academics, student life, campus events, internships, and the AU experience. Ambassadors work closely with the Admissions Marketing and Communications team to support enrollment marketing initiatives across digital platforms. We are looking for students who are active on campus, comfortable on camera, and eager to showcase the diverse experiences and opportunities available at American University. Essential Functions
Create original short‑form video content for platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other digital channels. Capture photos and videos that highlight campus life, academics, student organizations, internships, residence halls, and admissions events. Participate in content planning sessions and collaborate with Enrollment Marketing staff on content ideas and campaigns. Attend select admissions and university events to create real‑time content and event coverage. Serve as an authentic student voice by sharing personal experiences and insights about life at American University. Participate in social media takeovers, Q&A sessions, livestreams, and other digital engagement opportunities. Assist with the development of content that supports recruitment, yield, and enrollment goals. Monitor trends and recommend creative content ideas that resonate with prospective college students. Ensure all content aligns with university brand standards and social media guidelines. Occasionally appear in admissions marketing materials, videos, and promotional campaigns. Required Education and Experience
Current American University undergraduate student in good academic standing and rising sophomore. Strong communication and storytelling skills. Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or similar platforms. Comfortable appearing on camera and speaking to prospective students. Familiarity with video editing applications such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools. Active involvement in campus organizations, leadership activities, internships, research, athletics, or other student experiences. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects. Creative mindset with an understanding of social media trends and best practices. Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Hours per week depend on project needs and availability. Flexible scheduling, including occasional evening and weekend event coverage. This position is restricted to current American University undergraduate students who are rising sophomores and above. Other Details
Position type: Part‑time, 5–15 hours per week. Salary range: $18.40–$19.00 per hour.
