Responsibilities As part of the AR Glasses team, you will be building glasses that provide all‑day helpfulness in use cases like translation, navigation, photography and AI assistance.
In this role, you will be a part of the SonicXP team and will be responsible for several key features including translation, the media player, and the phone call experience on glasses. Your mission is to empower users with delightful glasses experiences that amplify the power of speech and sound.
You will be responsible for delivering great translation experiences for both Android and iOS users of XR glasses, as this role is for a mobile developer with experience in either iOS or Android (or both). You will likely contribute to both platforms over time.
Adapt, build, and launch first‑party applications, experiences for Android/iOS phones paired with next‑generation wearables using familiar Android/iOS development tools.
Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate the end‑to‑end engineering life‑cycle, including rapid prototyping, automated test generation, and code optimization for wearable experiences.
Ensure XR support feels native and idiomatic to the platform, leveraging modern mobile development practices (e.g., Model‑View‑ViewModel (MVVM) and the best of the Glasses Software Development Kit (SDK)).
Work closely with UX and Product Manager to define, prototype, and test experiences to discover what experiences users value the most and how to improve the experiences to provide more value to users.
Collaborate with other Google teams (Google Translate, etc.) to build features that leverage the best of Google products and services.
