About the Opportunity Our client, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology, is looking for two skilled Hardware Software Integration Engineers to join their team for a 6+ month engagement. This project is essential to the execution stage of their vehicle program, where you will oversee the deployment of next-generation compute, sensor, and data networking systems. This is a high-impact role that requires a self‑motivated professional who can act as a first responder to triage and debug difficult hardware‑software integration issues. Note: This role requires travel within the Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Leading and driving the debugging of hardware-software issues to closure, working with cross‑functional partners to identify root causes and provide resolutions.
Overseeing the deployment of next‑generation compute, sensor, and data networking systems on the vehicle platform.
Designing test plans and specifications to support manufacturing operations and ensure hardware systems operate predictably.
Developing test automation, leveraging in‑house analysis tools to improve test coverage and enhance test infrastructure.
Developing new processes and human workflows to improve fleet stability and providing feedback to engineering teams to improve future product versions.
Required Skills & Experience
A BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated ability to determine the root cause of complex issues involving HW, FW, and SW.
Experience with hardware interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, USB, UART, LIN, I2C, SPI, etc., and related testing/debugging tools.
Fluency in Python or similar scripting languages, git/version management tools, and SW debugging tools.
Strong familiarity with requirements and test case development.
