The Vessel Welder position is responsible for welding vessels with stick, mig, flux core and sub arc processes.
Essential Functions: Follow all work instructions given by the Production Supervisor and/or QC Inspector Making welds that pass visual inspection, x-ray or other nondestructive testing that is required Making sure the material is square and level when welding and before the vessel is moved from rolls from completion Perform all work in a safe manner in accordance to Cortex safety policies and procedures Actively promote and personally observe all company policies, employee handbook, safety and security procedures Comply with company work schedule, including but not limited to overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to pass welding test per ASME code requirements Ability to operate overhead crane Ability to use critical thinking to solve problems Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings Ability to work well with others Basic math
Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma, GED or equivalent 2-5 years of welding experience Vessel welding/fitting experience At least one year of experience in a manufacturing or similar work environment
