As we accelerate our roadmap for innovation and growth, we’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives on turning complex ideas into real‑world products and enjoys moving designs from concept to factory floor. Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical major. 3+ years of product design experience in a manufacturing environment while in a design engineering role. 3+ years of experience supporting product manufacturing and assembly processes for both existing and new products. Proven analytical skills in problem solving, analysis, and resolution at the functional level. Experience working in an innovative, focused, and agile product design team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Highly detail‑oriented, focused, results‑oriented, organized, conscientious, multi‑tasked, and a team player. Highly motivated and self‑driven; sets and achieves personal goals without supervision. Willingness to set goals and meet deadlines. Experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD for part/assembly design and creating engineering drawings. Experience with ERP and PDM systems is a plus. Experience with electro‑mechanical controls/technology is a plus. Responsibilities
Generate designs and drawings using 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and GD&T to meet specification requirements for function and manufacturability/assembly. Generate test plans; assemble and install prototypes for testing; test and collect data on products for design improvement and validation. Design mechanical dynamic systems with knowledge of springs, bevel gears, rack and pinion, spur gears, planetary gearboxes, worm gears, clutches, hydraulic flow control, permanent and non‑permanent joints, bearings, and pressure chamber design. Design products using injection molding, die casting, investment casting, forging, metal extrusion, gear hobbing, stamping, broaching, CNC milling and turning, and heat‑treatment manufacturing processes. Apply standard engineering practices (FMEA, DFMA, DFSS). Apply Lean Innovation Principles and practices (Set‑Based Design, Fail‑Fast, Eliminate Waste, Customer Value Focus, Create Knowledge). Collaborate with cross‑functional teams from design concept to product launch for dynamic mechanical and electromechanical products. Create product specifications and implementation plans in partnership with cross‑functional teams. Participate in design and engineering drawing reviews. Provide design support to manufacturing engineers for part‑machining fixtures, assembly fixtures, product assembly processes, and inline testing requirements.
