Position Summary The Junior System Administrator supports the administration, maintenance, and security of technology systems across Arizona Restaurant Supply and its subsidiary companies. Working under the Director of Technology, this role owns the day to day help desk operations while taking on increasing responsibility for cloud platform administration, identity and access management, endpoint management, and automation. This position plays a direct role in the company’s Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 migration and ongoing modernization of company systems.
The position supports multiple business locations, including offices in Phoenix, Tempe, New Mexico, Colorado, and employees throughout the country.
This is an in-person only role located in Tucson, AZ.
Essential Job Functions
Systems & Cloud Administration
Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online (mailboxes, shared mailboxes, distribution lists, mail flow), Entra ID (users, groups, MFA, conditional access support), SharePoint permissions and organization, OneDrive access and assistance.
Administer Google Workspace during the migration period, including lifecycle, data transfer, and decommissioning tasks.
Assist with and verify migration workstreams (mailbox and Drive data transfers, license reconciliation, account offboarding, and domain/routing changes).
Administer Apple device fleet through MDM (Addigy), including enrollment and configuration profiles.
Perform user provisioning, role assignment and access troubleshooting for company distributed software including Adobe, Revalize, Microsoft, Autodesk, and others.
Maintain, patch, and monitor workstations and network equipment (Dell and Apple workstations, Ubiquiti hardware).
Security & Continuity
Monitor security alerts in Microsoft Defender and related tools. Triage, document, and escalate incidents.
Enforce identity security standards including MFA enrollment, least‑privilege access reviews, and offboarding access removal.
Support security awareness efforts, including phishing report triage and end‑user guidance.
Automation & Documentation
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for running recurring administrative tasks (account lifecycle, reporting, audits).
Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software licenses, and mobile devices across all company entities. Coordinate with HR on equipment recovery during separations.
Help Desk & End User Support
Own daily help desk operations as the first point of contact and escalating to the Director of Technology as needed.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and telephony issues across Windows, macOS, Android and iOS.
Administer the VOIP phone system and company cell phone lines, including activations, deactivations, and feature changes.
Set up and deploy equipment for new hires, support onboarding and offboarding workflows.
Coordinate with outside vendors for support, purchasing, and repairs. Track vendor time and changes.
Project & Improvements
Evaluate and recommend upgrades and changes to systems and software based on business needs and industry practices.
Competencies
Hands‑on Microsoft 365 administration experience, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, and Microsoft Defender.
Working PowerShell scripting ability (Graph and Exchange Online modules a plus).
Solid networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, firewall basics).
Experience using and managing a ticketing system. Strong documentation habits.
Clear communication with non‑technical users and strong independent problem solving.
Minimum Job Requirements
2 to 4 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience with relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified, CompTIA Network+ or Security+).
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between company locations as needed.
Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Work Hours This is an exempt, salaried position. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.
