We are seeking a Certified Med Tech to join our Skilled Care unit and help provide compassionate care to our Veterans and eligible family members.
This temporary/PRN position works on an as-needed basis and provides flexibility to fit your schedule.
Located in Lisbon, North Dakota, the North Dakota Veterans Home is a long-term care community dedicated to honoring and serving our nation's Veterans and eligible family members. The home includes two basic care pods and one skilled care pod. Our team provides high-quality, compassionate care in a respectful, team-oriented environment that values dignity, purpose, and connection. Summary of Work
Provides resident-centered care in the Skilled Care Unit by assisting residents with activities of daily living, administering medications, supporting household activities, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and ensuring accurate documentation. Works collaboratively with nursing staff and other team members to promote residents' health, safety, independence, and quality of life while supporting the mission and values of the North Dakota Veterans Home.
Duties and Tasks
Administer medications and complete required documentation in accordance with NDVH policies and physician orders.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal care, mobility, meals, hydration, and nourishment.
Monitor resident conditions, obtain vital signs, and report changes or concerns to nursing staff.
Support resident safety, comfort, dignity, and overall well-being through resident-centered care.
Plan, coordinate, and participate in activities that promote resident independence, engagement, and quality of life.
Provide individualized interactions and assist residents in accessing activities, programs, and community resources.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including resident care, observations, and activity participation.
Participate in care planning meetings and communicate resident needs and concerns with the interdisciplinary team.
Maintain clean, safe, and organized resident rooms, household spaces, and work areas.
Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and resident transitions.
Stock supplies and support daily household operations.
Participate in quality improvement activities, committees, and team initiatives.
Collaborate with residents, families, and team members to promote a positive living environment and exceptional resident care.
Complete required documentation accurately and in compliance with NDVH standards and HIPAA.
Minimum Qualifications
Current North Dakota Medication Assistant II certification required.
Ability to safely administer medications and provide direct resident care.
Ability to provide compassionate, respectful care to residents in a long-term care setting.
Knowledge of resident rights, infection control, safety practices, and confidentiality requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and coworkers.
Ability to accurately complete documentation and maintain records.
Ability to lift, transfer, reposition, and assist residents with mobility and activities of daily living.
Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within established timeframe.
