Position Summary We are seeking a senior‑level Network Architect to drive enterprise networking strategy, design, and modernization efforts. This role focuses on architecture, cloud networking, and SaaS integration, with opportunities to lead high‑impact initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
Core Focus Areas
Architecture & Design:
Lead enterprise‑level network design and strategic initiatives.
Cloud & SaaS Integration:
Build, secure, and connect modern SaaS applications.
Collaboration Evolution:
Transition from Cisco CUCM/Jabber to Microsoft Teams telephony.
Technical Leadership:
Provide mentorship and establish engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Initiatives
Modernize data centers and colocation environments.
Replace end‑of‑life core networking infrastructure.
Design and implement secure SaaS gateway architectures.
Implement micro‑segmentation to enhance network security.
Operations & Engineering
Design, build, and support enterprise networking systems (voice, data, video).
Support Microsoft 365 tenant and Teams telephony integrations.
Engineer and manage VoIP solutions, including SIP gateways and QoS.
Configure and support contact center routing within CCaaS platforms.
Monitor network environments and respond to incidents to ensure uptime.
Troubleshoot complex network and service provider issues.
Vendor & Project Management
Manage external vendors (e.g., CDW) for patching, maintenance, and support.
Ensure project delivery aligns with scope, cost, and architectural standards.
Contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution.
Technology Environment
Networking:
Cisco (routers/switches), Meraki (wireless), Fortinet/FortiGate, FortiManager
Cloud & Collaboration:
Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams
Infrastructure:
Data centers, colocation, hybrid environments
Telephony:
VoIP, SIP, CCaaS solutions
Ideal Candidate Profile
7+ years of experience in network engineering and architecture.
Strong background in enterprise network design and implementation.
Proven ability to lead complex technical projects end‑to‑end.
Experience mentoring junior engineers and influencing technical direction.
Comfortable operating across both strategic planning and hands‑on support.
Experience in hybrid/cloud networking environments.
Able to work in a hybrid model (within ~40‑50 miles of office locations preferred).

What You'll Do Day‑to‑Day
Lead technical support and optimization of enterprise communications systems.
Design and implement complex voice, video, and data network solutions.
Build and maintain resilient, scalable network architectures.
Troubleshoot and resolve critical network issues.
Collaborate cross‑functionally on infrastructure and cloud initiatives.
Ensure adherence to ITIL processes and operational best practices.
Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and Benefits
$50.00 – $65.00 per hour
