As a Software Architect Sr within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Farmers Branch, TX and focused on shaping the target state data ecosystem, guiding direction, and ensuring solutions are technically sound and scalable.
Responsibilities
Define and evolve the future‑state data vision (platforms, flows, capabilities).
Identify gaps between current and target state and guide roadmap priorities.
Bring strong depth across data platforms, pipelines, cloud, and integrations.
Provide technical guidance and guardrails, not detailed architecture ownership.
Drive a reusable, platform‑first mindset versus point solutions.
Ensure alignment to enterprise patterns (data domains, medallion layers, etc.).
Work across engineering, data, product, and business teams and align stakeholders on direction, trade‑offs, and sequencing.
Lead in the overall design of cross‑functional, multi‑platform, and web‑based application systems; oversee all application system processes.
Develop application architecture and blueprints that reflect enterprise business logic.
Define application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools; direct mapping activities on specific technology platforms.
Provide technical guidance to application development teams and consult on integration and conversion activities.
Conduct reviews and analyze organizational needs and goals to develop and implement applications.
Qualifications Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role. Key qualifications include:
8+ years of industry‑relevant experience at a comparable level.
University or college degree (Bachelor’s preferred). Advanced degrees or certifications are desirable.
Deep expertise in data platforms, pipelines, cloud services, and integrations.
Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and service‑oriented architecture technologies.
Knowledge of machine learning concepts and risk assessment practices.
Ability to influence cross‑team collaboration and drive technical strategy.
