Job Description As a Clinical Data Analyst, you will support clinical workflow improvement, data analysis, and validation activities within an electronic health record (EHR) environment. You will work closely with clinical teams and technical stakeholders to transform clinical data into actionable insights that inform decision‑making and enhance patient care delivery. This role requires expertise in clinical data interpretation, workflow documentation, and data validation, as well as the ability to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Document and analyze clinical workflows, identifying gaps and recommending improvements
Extract, analyze, and validate data from electronic health record systems
Translate clinical questions into meaningful data analysis and reporting
Develop data visualizations and reports to support clinical and operational decision-making
Validate EHR data through comparison with external data sources and internal cross-checks
Support testing and validation of EHR system updates and enhancements
Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to improve data quality and system functionality
Maintain documentation of workflows, processes, and analytical findings
Act as a point of contact for clinical staff regarding EHR‑related data and workflow inquiries
Ensure alignment with national EHR standards and best practices
Participate in multidisciplinary teams to support data‑driven healthcare improvements
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies
Proven experience working with electronic health record (EHR) systems in a clinical setting
Strong ability to extract, structure, and analyze complex clinical data from unstructured sources
Deep understanding of medical vocabularies and healthcare data standards
Experience validating and reconciling clinical data across multiple data sources
Ability to document and analyze clinical workflows in multidisciplinary healthcare environments
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data interpretation skills
Experience creating reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings to non‑technical stakeholders
Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, technical, and operational teams
Clinical or medical background such as nursing, medicine, pharmacy, or related field (preferred)
Experience in institutional or regulated healthcare environments (preferred)
Familiarity with national EHR standards and interoperability frameworks (preferred)
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
