Evaluate and assess athletic injuries and determine appropriate care or referral Provide immediate emergency care during practices, games, and events Design and implement injury prevention and rehabilitation programs Apply therapeutic modalities, taping, bracing, and manual therapy techniques Maintain detailed and confidential medical documentation for athletes Coordinate with physicians, physical therapists, and coaching staff Educate athletes on injury prevention, hydration, nutrition, and safe training practices Ensure compliance with NCAA, high school athletic association, or organizational policies Travel with teams when required for competitions and events Manage athletic training facility equipment, supplies, and safety protocols
Requirements
Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, sports injuries, and rehabilitation principles Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure athletic environments Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong decision-making skills in emergency situations Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment, and respond quickly to injuries
Education & Certification Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field (Master's degree preferred) Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) Current Arkansas licensure CPR/AED certification required (must be kept current)
