Who should apply?
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited university and/or equivalent work experience
Azure certifications are strongly preferred (AZ-900, DP-300)
3+ years of experience in troubleshooting SQL Server availability issues related to clustering, Always On, SQL replication
3+ years of experience managing SQL jobs, including database maintenance jobs (backups, index maintenance)
1+ years of experience in administering SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines
1+ years of experience in administering and supporting Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
1+ years managing SQL Servers using Powershell
Strong knowledge of high availability and data movement technologies such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Change Data Capture, SQL Replication, SQL Clustering, along with disaster recovery concepts (RPO/RTO).
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain, monitor, and manage the SQL Server databases in all application environments
Troubleshoot availability issues related to clustering on Windows Server, SQL Server on Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Server Managed Instances, AlwaysOn Readable Secondaries, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, SQL replication, SQL Failover Groups
Troubleshoot performance, locking, and blocking issues within SQL Server databases, tempdb, virtual machines
Proactively and reactively resolve database performance and capacity issues, including managing indexes, SQL trace data, Extended Events, audits, and alerting
Manage SQL Server jobs and Windows scheduled tasks
Perform safe upgrades and migrations for IaaS-based SQL Servers
Automate routine tasks, alert response using PowerShell, SQL, .NET, or other tools
Employees must be within a commutable distance to the Dallas, TX office. Relocation is required for candidates not already local to the DFW area.
In-office attendance up to two times per week for the first 90 days of employment.
After 90 days completion, you will have an option to work remotely with at least 1 in-person engagement required monthly (team collaboration day, ISN events, team events, performance reviews, etc.).
