Information Technology Director The Village of Lake Zurich, Illinois is seeking an experienced Information Technology Director to provide strategic leadership and hands‑on technical expertise for all aspects of the organization’s technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, business systems, and digital initiatives.
This position requires a unique blend of executive leadership and technical proficiency. The successful candidate will not only lead and mentor IT staff, but will also participate in the day‑to‑day work of the department.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a municipal IT environment
Demonstrated experience performing the day‑to‑day technical work of an IT department while also managing staff and operations
Proven experience developing and implementing strategic technology plans
Experience presenting and communicating with executive leadership, elected officials, governing boards, and department directors
Strong knowledge of server and cloud technologies, vendor management, cybersecurity, network administration, and budgeting
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Public Administration
Compensation and Benefits The base salary range for this position is $129,302 - $158,330 depending on qualifications. The Village provides a comprehensive benefits package, including IMRF pension plan, health, dental, and vision insurance, 457 retirement plans, flexible spending accounts, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and personal days.
