The Software Quality Assurance and Support Manager will manage a team of quality assurance professionals who partner with 4 pods of developers and system architects to deliver and support new web and cloud based, multi-tier, user‑facing financial applications with an accompanying ecosystem of supporting services. Candidates will be expected to drive quality initiatives, lead automated and manual testing, and expand our automated testing framework across web, API, and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate combines strong technical automation skills with leadership and process improvement experience. Candidates will also develop strong and collaborative internal relationships for aligning the company’s products and services with customers’ needs; establish strategy and roadmap for scalability and performance of internal systems; prioritize and manage multiple projects; monitor industry trends; and collaborate with IT peers to ensure appropriate overall architecture of our software products.
Duties/Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers
Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks
Define QA strategy, standards, and best practices
Review test plans, automation scripts, and defect reports
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams
Drive shift-left testing and continuous quality practices
Improve CI/CD quality gates and release confidence
Track QA metrics and report release readiness
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong customer service skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to identify patterns and trends.
Strong ability to multi‑task, display good judgment, and work cross‑functionally in a dynamic environment.
Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods (including version control and defect management), and tools.
Perform root cause analysis and resolution in tight time constraints.
Superb computer competence, including test automation and strong SQL skills.
Experience with:
Playwright
API testing tools
CI/CD pipelines
Agile/Scrum environments
Jira and test management tools
Programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in one or more of the following: Information Systems/Management, Operations Management/Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Systems Analysis or related field (or commensurate professional experience).
7+ years of professional work experience, with 5+ years in QA automation and 3+ years leading/managing Quality Assurance Teams
Location Hybrid arrangement based in Naperville, IL or Denver, CO preferred (~3 days per week in office and ~2 days per week remote). May negotiate other working arrangements with exceptional candidates.
Physical Requirements Must be able to work at a computer for long periods of time. Lift up to 15 lbs.
Pay Range For This Role Is 120,000 - 145,000 USD per year (Illinois)
120,000 - 145,000 USD per year (Colorado)
