Role summary: 
This role helps keep athenahealth’s digital advertising programs running accurately, on time, and at high quality across epocrates’ platforms. The Ad Operations Sr. Associate supports both direct-sold and programmatic campaigns from setup through delivery, working to ensure campaign specifications are translated into clean execution, reliable reporting, and strong client service. This is a Remote-US role. This position reports to the Digital Advertising Operations & Inventory Manager - epocrates. 

Team summary: 
The Ad Operations team is responsible for the precise execution, delivery, and optimization of advertising campaigns across epocrates’ digital platforms. The team serves as an operational hub for the advertising business, translating media plans into live campaigns and helping ensure accurate launch, full delivery, and consistent experience for clients and healthcare professionals. 

The team works closely with Sales, Client Success, Pricing, Product, Engineering, and Revenue Operations to coordinate campaign setup, manage trafficking and QA, monitor pacing and performance, and protect data accuracy and revenue integrity. Team members help identify delivery risks early, resolve operational issues, maintain documentation and process discipline, and support continuous improvement across campaign workflows. 

Essential Job Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the end-to-end setup, trafficking, and launch of direct-sold and programmatic advertising campaigns across multiple platforms and formats. 

  • Coordinate campaign requirements with Sales, Client Success, Pricing, Product, Engineering, and Revenue Operations to ensure accurate implementation and timely launch. 

  • Review campaign details, creative assets, targeting, pacing, and tracking specifications to confirm alignment with insertion orders and media plans. 

  • QA ad server setups, order management entries, CRM records, creative assets, and tracking tags to identify and resolve errors before and after launch. 

  • Monitor delivery, pacing, and performance metrics to identify risks, raise issues early, and support optimization and revenue-at-risk management. 

  • Analyze campaign reports and operational data to evaluate delivery, troubleshoot issues, and support accurate performance and billing-related decisions. 

  • Implement creative assets, tracking tags, and ad code across display, native, and HTML-based placements while maintaining accuracy and compliance with specifications. 

  • Document workflows, campaign statuses, exceptions, and process updates to support consistency, handoffs, and adherence to SOPs. 

  • Troubleshoot campaign and ad-serving issues, including trafficking errors, delivery discrepancies, and basic HTML or tag-related problems, and escalate when needed. 

  • Use AI-enabled tools, where available, to streamline routine campaign review, reporting, and issue triage tasks while applying human judgment to validate accuracy and prioritize work. 

Additional Job Responsibilities: 

  • Support special projects related to ad operations process improvement, reporting enhancements, or system updates. 

  • Assist with testing new workflows, tools, or platform features that affect campaign execution or reporting. 

  • Contribute to cross-functional discussions about inventory availability, campaign planning, and operational constraints. 

  • Maintain organized records of campaign materials, launch notes, and issue resolution history. 

  • Participate in internal training and knowledge sharing to strengthen team capabilities and process consistency. 

  • Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and strengthen operational controls. 

  • Support ad-hoc analysis requests related to campaign delivery, pacing, or revenue performance. 

  • Coordinate with internal partners on recurring maintenance tasks tied to campaign administration and platform readiness. 

Expected Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Communications, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in ad operations or digital advertising operations 

Expected Compensation

$66,000 - $112,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates.  Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
