Company: Air Squared Manufacturing, LLC
Title of Position: Design Engineer III
Position Type: Full time; Exempt
Air Squared Manufacturing, Inc. is an OEM manufacturer of scroll type compressors, vacuum pumps and expanders for the medical, aerospace, fuel cell and power generation industries. Air Squared offers exciting career opportunities working on projects including NASA MOXIE, Leading Electric and Autonomous Vehicle OEM, DOE Clean Energy initiatives ranging from nuclear fusion and the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-e), and other cutting-edge projects.
The Design Engineer III will independently lead the design, analysis, and prototyping of new scroll compressors and vacuum pumps. This position will design customized solutions directly for a customer’s needs, ensuring that the product will meet their specifications. This senior‑level role will focus on the critical design aspects of a scroll compressor, which directly affect size, performance, life, and reliability, and will also mentor and develop junior engineering staff.
This role is being established as part of a strategic initiative to build a dedicated defense engineering organization. The selected candidate will play a foundational role in shaping its technical direction and delivering engineering solutions across critical defense programs. The right candidate will thrive in an environment that requires building from the ground up, operating with ambiguity, and producing high‑quality designs without losing sight of near‑term program commitments.
This position is dedicated exclusively to defense‑related programs and operates as part of a defined business unit with responsibility for technical execution and customer deliverables. It is structured to support an independent operating model, with the expectation that the engineer will function with a high degree of autonomy and contribute directly to establishing repeatable engineering processes as the organization matures.
