Maintenance Planner Food Manufacturing
We are hiring a
Maintenance Planner
for a food and beverage manufacturing facility in Rockford, IL. This is a critical coordination role responsible for planning, scheduling, and optimizing all maintenance activity across the facility - from work order management to parts procurement to PM program ownership.
What You'll Do: Own the maintenance work order backlog and develop weekly and daily execution schedules Lead maintenance planning and scheduling meetings Build and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs Manage the parts room including inventory control, spare parts identification, and purchasing approvals Generate and manage purchase orders for parts and supplies including vendor negotiation Maintain equipment manuals, prints, schematics, and machine history in the CMMS Serve as the SME for the maintenance management system Collaborate with maintenance leadership on financial, statistical, and technical reporting Coordinate with contractors on critical job steps and expectations Support continuous improvement initiatives tied to proactive maintenance
What We're Looking For: 7+ years of experience in maintenance planning or maintenance supervision Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude CMMS proficiency required - must be comfortable owning the system Experience managing parts rooms, inventory, and purchasing Ability to develop and present clear maintenance reports Strong communicator across shop floor, vendors, and management Two-year technical degree or higher preferred Food or beverage manufacturing background a plus
