Job Description Powertrain Solutions is a provider of diversified powertrain products and solutions in three market segments: Electric Vehicles (EL), Passenger Cars (PC), and Commercial Vehicles / Off‑Road (CV/OR) – from gasoline and diesel injection to electric drives with battery and fuel cell technologies. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Software System Design Engineer to join our embedded software development team.
As a Software System Designer, you are responsible for defining the software requirements for powertrain control systems for conventional internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrid and electric vehicles (HEV/BEV). You will apply your deep understanding of these control systems in collaboration with the design team and customers to develop, implement, validate, and release effective solutions that create a win‑win scenario for our customers and our team.
Responsibilities
Customer interface for requirement management and issue resolution.
Analyze and clarify customer requirements.
Understand the vehicle functionality as a system to propose and develop solutions at the component level.
Create and document software design and test plans.
Implement and test new functionality in software.
Perform design and implementation reviews.
Support investigations, separate the customer software issues from Bosch software issues and resolve customer bug reports.
Coordinate with our international design, development, integration, and project management team, as well as with customers.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
B.S. or higher in Engineering (preferably Computer, Electronic, or Automobile engineering)
1–2 years of experience in software development in embedded systems or the automotive field.
Preferred Qualifications
Good powertrain system knowledge (diesel, gasoline, hybrid, electric vehicle)
Strong programming skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent problem‑solving, presentation, and teamwork skills.
Capable of working with a variety of scripting languages.
Familiarity with electrical schematics.
