is seeking a strong bridge design leader for the position of
Bridge Design Project Manager
in the rapidly expanding Transportation Engineering Group in Oakland, CA.
Specifics of the role include:
Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large-size projects.
Strong emphasis on complex bridge design (including rail and metro transit) projects and deliveries.
Leads technical client relationships and plays a major role in selling.
Leads discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise.
Leads technical business development work.
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Approves and signs off on work.
Leader in one or more areas of technology.
Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large, complex projects.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
California state PE license or ability to attain reciprocity in possessing another U.S. state PE license within one year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
12+ years' experience in bridge design and project deliveries.
Extensive project design experience with complex bridge project work in CA along with related structures project detail deliveries.
Strong & proven success with business development and client relationships. This is a SELLER/DOER opportunity.
Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
Strong, proven & documented bridge project management experience & success and skills in California or regional project deliveries.
Proficiency in software such as MicroStation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, and MDX.
Knowledge of 3D finite element software such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, SAP2000, etc. is a plus.
Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software).
Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable Codes.
Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools.
