Data Analyst I – Summit Reinsurance Services, a division of Companion Life and subsidiary of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. Responsibilities include analyzing operational functions, identifying improvement opportunities, maintaining databases, extracting data for analysis, running and reviewing reports, and supporting operational functions. Location
Full‑time (40 hours/week), Monday‑Friday, on‑site at 6920 Pointe Inverness Way, Suite 140, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Responsibilities
Extract data from multiple systems and departments using various data manipulation and extraction techniques for regular, cyclical, and ad‑hoc reporting. Perform research, analyze reports, and develop statistical models for presentation and review. Summarize findings and clearly communicate results to management. Identify operational inefficiencies and leverage tools and analytical methods to improve processes. Collaborate and communicate with cross‑functional teams regarding reporting outcomes and insights. Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in a job‑related field. Equivalent: 4 years of job‑related work experience, or an Associate’s degree with 2 years of job‑related work experience. Skills & Abilities : Strong organizational, customer service, communication, and analytical skills; ability to perform complex mathematical calculations and understand statistical concepts; working knowledge of relevant computer systems and data tools (Microsoft Office); ability to learn programming skills across various software platforms; ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion. Preferred Qualifications
Preferred work experience: at least 2 years of related research and analysis experience. Preferred skills: negotiation or persuasion skills; knowledge of ICD‑9 and CPT‑4 coding. Preferred software and tools: experience with SAS, DB2, or other relational databases. Benefits Package
