Responsibilities
Providing expert guidance on the use and implementation of ORTEC systems, via direct contact in person at customer sites and also by electronic communication and phone support.
Develop and present training materials to ORTEC based customers via in-person or virtual methods.
Assist in training programs on the use and application of spectroscopy equipment and software.
Interact with customers, both internal and external, on issues such as a new application of standard ORTEC hardware and software, and specifications/definitions of turn‑key systems and non‑standard offerings.
Support ORTEC initiatives in NPP counting rooms, environmental monitoring, medical isotope generation facilities, research institutions, government institutions, and international organizations.
Interact with the worldwide nuclear sales team and technical support resources, providing technical support to aid in sales efforts and initiatives.
Manage all incoming email and telephone inquiries and log relevant technical support efforts and support in CRM system.
Maintain scheduling, coordination, and execution of customer support requests and orders received for hardware/software installations, technical training, and general maintenance contract support.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree
Minimum 5 years experience in a production counting laboratory environment nuclear power plant chemistry laboratory, medical radioisotope laboratory, environmental laboratory, or a combination of education and similar experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and inquisitive and exploratory drive.
Demonstrated experience with radiation measurement and detection equipment and techniques including, but not limited to, gamma and alpha spectroscopy, gas proportional and liquid scintillation counters, computer‑based data acquisition systems, analog and digital electronics, high purity germanium detectors, silicon charged particle detectors, etc.
Demonstrated experience interpreting analytical results from radiation measurement and detection equipment.
Demonstrated experience in presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in cross functional teams and possess team leadership skills.
Programming experience in VBA, C, C++, C#, Linux, and other API’s is preferred.
Involvement in technical and standards committees is desired.
Field experience in nuclear power, commercial, academic, or government counting laboratory environment required.
Knowledge of governing regulations for environmental adherence, nuclear power plants (NRC and other regulatory bodies) and government-operated nuclear facilities desired.
Experience and skills utilizing Microsoft based desktop and cloud‑based applications preferred (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Teams, Yammer, OneDrive).
