Purpose of the Job As a key member of the sales engineering team, the Sales Engineer partners with the territory sales to drive and manage the technology evaluation process for software and hardware solutions. This role serves as the primary technical advisor for all Pre-sales activity within an assigned territory, ensuring that customer requirements are effectively translated into solutions. This role consists of approximately 70% pre‑sales responsibilities and 30% post‑sales responsibilities.The candidate must reside in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana or Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze customer requirements to recommend optimal solutions including product selection, high-level solution design, and creation of scopes of work for implementation and life-cycle management.
Deliver technical expertise in pre-sales meetings, providing on-site and remote support, product demonstrations, and presentations across multiple verticals.
Collaborate closely with territory sales to support dealer development, proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives, and technical support activities that drive business growth.
Assist customers in preparing RFP/RFI/RFQ documents and contribute to high-quality, competitive responses.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and professional delivery of solutions, meeting or exceeding performance goals.
Engage with technical support and professional services to resolve complex issues involving third-party products and integrated security solutions.
Monitor market trends and customer feedback, advocating for enhancements to i-PRO's products, marketing, and training teams.
Qualifications: Education & Experiences
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technology field.
2-4 years of experience in pre-sales engineering, technical sales, or similar customer-facing technical role.
Hands-on experience with computer hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
Deep understanding of physical security, video surveillance, and technology markets.
Strong analytics, troubleshooting, and solutions design skills.
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and customer-facing communication abilities.
Self-motivated, creative, and passionate about technology and customer satisfaction.
Proficient with Windows troubleshooting tools and networking principles (IP communication).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environment.
Other Requirements
Prolonged periods of working at a computer.
Ability to travel by vehicle and air as needed.
Capable of lifting up to 45 pounds occasionally.
