Serve as technical authority and support for the enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN).
Act as a technical advisor on group projects involving government and/or contractor resources for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, information assurance, and maintenance of the SAN environment.
Ensure all changes to production products follow IT Change Management processes and procedures.
Enforce the Defense Logistics Agency system development life cycle, using appropriate tools to deliver projects successfully.
Interpret policies and implementation plans used by the Defense Logistics Agency SAN, UNIX, Windows, and database administrators.
Maintain up‑to‑date documentation for SAN configurations, procedures, licensing, and designs.
Respond to SAN, NAS, Backup, and Archive data requests related to systems and licensing.
Participate in the installation and configuration of SAN, Backup, Archive, and NAS products; install, configure, and maintain the enterprise SAN, Backup, Archive, and NAS environment.
Evaluate and recommend new diagnostic tools; ensure integrity and availability of SAN, Backup, Archive, and NAS solutions by monitoring operational metrics.
Conduct security validation activities for SAN, Backup, Archive, and NAS products, including Security Readiness Review (SRR) scans and manual checks of security controls per Security Technical Implementation Guides.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Tour of Duty: Set Schedule.
Security Requirements: Critical Sensitive with Secret Access.
Appointment subject to favorable suitability or fitness determination; adverse background adjudication grounds for removal.
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt.
Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12‑31‑59 must register or be exempt.
Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized.
Bargaining Unit Status: No.
Selectees required to possess a REAL ID or other acceptable identification documents to access federal facilities.
Position may be filled at various shifts within DLA Information Operations, J6.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience directly related to the duties, equivalent to GS‑11 or higher.
Authoritative advice and knowledge of SAN, Backup, Archive, NAS, and related software and hardware.
Maintenance of comprehensive knowledge of all products in the SAN, Backup, Archive, and NAS environments.
Diagnostic technique proficiency to analyze and isolate problems involving system, storage, network hardware or software.
Ability to provide technical assistance to customers, OEM representatives, and third‑party providers.
