Base $60,000-$80,000 + Bonus + Incentives. The Inside Sales Representative maintains and develops relationships with the assigned customer base to generate profitable, sustainable, and collectible business.
Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities Customer Service
Assesses the customer’s business and identifies areas of opportunity to provide value
Coordinates follow-up with customer to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
Takes a proactive approach to anticipating and preventing problems—i.e., defines the problem, investigates obstacles, and analyzes alternative solutions
Coordinates the resolution of customer complaints regarding damaged/incorrect material and delivery/inventory problems
Product Knowledge
Has existing knowledge of or the ability to learn carbon and non-ferrous product line and sells the product that will best meet the customer’s needs
Processing Orders
Determines processing requirements and lead times to provide accurate delivery to customer
Coordinates orders with warehouse and appropriate sales departments to ensure timely product delivery to customer
Accurately enters data for completion of order
Maintains record-keeping and reporting systems to regularly update account plans and objectives as appropriate to the profit potential of each customer
Pricing
Establishes pricing guidelines for customers in coordination with Sales Management and other sales department
Business Promotion
Develops sales leads
Outcalls customers and potential customers as part of a larger marketing strategy
Other Duties
Adheres to the Norfolk Iron Code of Ethics in doing business with customers
Responds to periodic requests for information from management and corporate functions
Actively participates in weekly Sales meetings and represents Sales in BAM as necessary
Meets annual training requirements for Inside Sales
All other duties as assigned

Organize/prioritize daily work activities to provide the best service to customers

Strong follow-up skills
Concentrate and maintain productivity in high pressure situations
Intermediate knowledge
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
College preferred but not required
3–5 years of experience in Sales or Customer Service required; OR
2+ years in sales of flat roll metal products or metal fabrication
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Ability to lift, pull, and/or push 50 lbs. on a semi-frequent basis.
Stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day.
Use hand and fingers to type and conduct computer tasks for up to 8 hours per day.Ability to work in a dusty, hot environment for up to 10 hours per day.
