Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Specialty: Long Term Care (LTC) Location: Bellaire, MI Duration: 13 Weeks Contract Shift: Days (36 Hour Guarantee) Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our long-term care facility in Bellaire, MI, for a 13-week contract position. As a CNA, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our residents. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring resident health, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring resident comfort and dignity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow established performance standards and adhere to nursing service policies and procedures. Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting. Administer tub baths, showers, or bed baths to assigned residents. Turn and reposition residents as per their care plan, maintaining range of motion. Obtain vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, and pulse) under the direction of a licensed nurse. Transport residents to the dining area and assist with feeding. Use proper body mechanics when transferring and transporting residents, including the use of transfer belts and mechanical lifts as indicated in the care plan. Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms, tables, and nightstands, changing bed linen as needed and on bath days. Conduct resident rounds as per care plans, before each shift change, and as needed. Respond to all call lights and porch egress alarms on the assigned nursing unit. Participate in the care planning process and perform nurse-assisted duties as documented on the resident's care plan. Report resident problems, condition changes, or incidents to the Charge Nurse. Document incidents and unusual problems according to facility procedures. Maintain resident confidentiality, treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect, and promptly report all resident accidents and injuries to the Charge Nurse. Document care and treatment provided to residents and their responses or lack of response in the nursing assistant electronic charting system. Observe and follow infection control and safety policies and procedures. Attend and complete scheduled in-service, Relias training courses, classes, and ward conferences as required. Maintain all certification requirements for the state of Michigan and stay current on the state registry for CNAs. Be available for hours of work beyond your normally scheduled shift. Maintain regular and timely attendance. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Additional Facility Information:
No block schedule is guaranteed. Every other weekend work is required. The facility may occasionally have a canine support visitor. If you have a fear of dogs, please consider this before applying.
Submission Requirements:
2+ years of CNA experience is required. Travel experience is strongly encouraged. BLS (AHA or ARC) certification is strongly encouraged. A valid Michigan CNA License is required. COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged. If declined, mask-wearing is mandated. Ability to move up to 25 lbs. and frequently lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
Scheduling:
Every other weekend, plus 2 shifts during the week to total 36 hours per week. Blocked scheduling is NOT guaranteed. Scheduling may include Sundays and Saturdays as the client operates on a Sunday-Saturday schedule.
Meal/Lunch Break:
A 30-minute lunch break per day is allowed unless otherwise approved by a Leader. Failure to self-deduct 30 mins on the timesheet will result in a deduction at the time of review.
Timesheets:
The clinician must fill out the agency timesheet with hours worked and submit an UNSIGNED timesheet to the agency contact for upload to TRIO for billing and client review.
State License Requirements:
A valid Michigan CNA license is required.
