Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled
Mechanic
to perform advanced maintenance and repairs on mid- to large-size construction equipment. This role requires expertise in diagnosing complex issues across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and keeping equipment in peak operating condition to meet customer demands. This position will also require operating out of a mobile service vehicle at times to support field service needs.
Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair complex issues on mid- to large-size construction equipment (e.g., earthmoving, aerial, electrical). Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or safety issues and complete service reports. Perform advanced preventative maintenance, including hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems. Work autonomously to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment issues with minimal supervision. Operate & maintain company owned mobile service vehicle when field support is needed.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade training preferred. Position is based out of Sandusky, OH, with an expectation of residing in Sandusky or in the surrounding counties. Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic with advanced knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems preferred. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with mid- to large-size construction equipment. Physical ability to perform hands-on repairs and maintenance on large equipment.
