Responsibilities Deploy and maintain classified IT infrastructures on heterogeneous Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows environments. Lead and coordinate the installation and configuration of RedHat systems. Participate in all phases of engineering software installation and support, emphasizing testing, documentation, and acceptance. Collaborate with teams and mentor junior Linux administrators. Apply knowledge of Windows Server and Linux fundamentals to DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate‑to‑high scope technical problems involving hardware and operating systems. Participate and lead technical meetings with program personnel and represent the organization in functional area matters. Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures, and other assigned tasks. Provision, install, configure, operate, and maintain systems hardware and software related to Linux/Windows infrastructures for classified programs. Perform server and storage management (software and hardware), cross‑platform authentication and access management, data backup and restoration, software and license configuration, and workstation support. Work with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide required documentation. Systems operate 24/7; occasional work beyond standard hours may be required. Create and maintain VMware vCenter, vSphere, Linux desktop, Windows desktop (Windows10/11), Splunk, and other virtual computing environments. Qualifications – Must Have University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5years. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance. Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux, Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, and prior systems administration. Experience with server architectures, troubleshooting, and documentation of technical solutions. Experience using VMwarevCenter, vSphere, Linux desktops, Windows desktops (Windows10/11), Splunk, and other virtual computing methods. Preferred Qualifications Active DoD T/S clearance or ability to obtain one. DoDD8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent) and an operating system certification within six months of start. Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF. Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions. Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development. Experience with MicrosoftWSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange. High‑performance computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment. Scripting and automation experience.
