What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities)
Deploys and configures services using infrastructure as a service provider (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, RackSpace/OpenStack). Configures and manages Linux‑based servers to serve a dynamic website. Debugs cluster‑based computing architectures. Uses scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems. Installs and manages open‑source monitoring tools. Configures management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt). Architecture for continuous integration and deployment, and continuous monitoring. Uses and works with containerization technologies (e.g., LXC, Docker, Rocket).
Maintains, manages, and updates current and future third‑party software (e.g., COTS and GOTS tools) and ensures full compatibility, usability, security, and optimal performance.
Applies updates, troubleshoots issues, and coordinates with software vendors as needed to resolve issues or implement changes.
Maintains, manages, and updates current and future application programming interfaces (APIs), ensuring full compatibility, usability, security, and optimal performance.
Develops, maintains, and custom software solutions when the Government determines no other solution is available to meet the LD requirements.
Ensures software development adheres to industry standards, best practices, DOJ, and FBI standards for the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Develops, maintains, and provides documentation for all software (third party or developed), to include APIs, scripting, automation, changes, testing, and user/administrator guides.
Implements and maintains Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the testing, deployment, and monitoring of software applications, when required by the government.
Conducts regular code reviews, secure coding techniques, vulnerability scanning, and testing (unit, integration, system, and user acceptance) to ensure quality and performance, when required by the government.
Collaborates with stakeholders to gather and validate requirements ensuring software solutions align with Laboratory objectives and user needs.
Provides training and support to internal teams on new software applications and updates to ensure smooth adoption and effective use.
Stays current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously evaluating and integrating new tools and practices to enhance software development and maintenance processes.
Designs, develops, delivers, and sustains automated functional Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processing and pipelines and validates extracted data from structured and unstructured inputs.
Validates data that is extracted from structured and unstructured data sources, databases, and other repositories, using scripts and other automated capabilities to load data, logs, and queries.
Advices government personnel on incremental changes that could lead to continuous improvement in products or processes.
What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements)
Top Secret (TS) security clearance
2-4 years of experience in a DevOps role
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework for the Enterprise (SAFe), Scrum and Kanban.
Ideally, You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience working in a multisystem environment to include FBINET, UNET, LabAPP, Sensor Management System, Sample Tracking (Visi‑Trac RFID), Records Management System, ADAMS Web, STACS‑DB (Sample Tracking and Control System – Database), STACS‑CW (Sample Tracking and Control System – Casework)
