DevOps Developer (Experienced, Senior or Lead) Company: The Boeing Company Location: Herndon, VA Position Responsibilities Automate installation and configuration of Windows servers, Linux servers, Windows workstations, and related software components. Assist with configuring and managing network services (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory) to facilitate communication and resource sharing. Automate implementation and management of backup strategies for data protection and disaster recovery. Automate implementation and maintenance of security measures, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and access controls. Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve overall efficiency and responsiveness. Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps; generate reports on performance, security, and compliance. Participate in planning and implementation of new systems, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring compatibility and best‑practice adherence. Stay up‑to‑date with the latest technologies, industry trends, and security practices, continuously improving skills and knowledge. Basic Qualifications (Required) Active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (U.S. Citizenship required; clearance active within past 24 months). Level 3: 3+ years of related work experience, or equivalent education and experience. Experience managing and maintaining servers, workstations, and infrastructure components using automation tooling. In‑depth knowledge of Windows and Linux Server versions (installation, configuration, administration). Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and core infrastructure services. Advanced troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills; ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Familiarity with cloud (AWS, Azure) and/or virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix AHV). Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell. Preferred Qualifications (Desired) Level 4: 5+ years of related experience; Level 5: 10+ years of related experience. Associate degree or higher in a relevant field. Experience with automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, Foreman). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Certifications in DevOps, DevOps Tooling, or relevant IT certifications. Pay & Benefits Summary pay ranges (based on level and experience): Experienced (Level 3): $119,850.00 – $162,150.00 Senior (Level 4): $146,200.00 – $197,800.00 Lead (Level 5): $176,800.00 – $239,200.00 Boeing offers a Total Rewards package that includes competitive base pay, variable compensation, health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
