About Paradromics
Brain-related illness is one of the last great frontiers in medicine, not because the brain is unknowable, but because it has been inaccessible. Paradromics is building a brain‑computer interface (BCI) platform that records brain activity at the highest possible resolution: the individual neuron. AI algorithms then decode this massive amount of brain data, enabling the seamless translation of thought into treatments.
Our first clinical application, the Connexus® BCI, will help people who are unable to speak—due to ALS, spinal cord injuries, and stroke—to communicate independently through digital devices. With the BCI platform far beyond this application, the brain in direct communication with digital devices can transform how we treat conditions ranging from sensory and motor deficits to untreatable mental illness.
The Role As the Network Engineer, you will lead the design, optimization, and modernization of Paradromics’ global network infrastructure. You’ll evaluate current environments, identify gaps in performance or security, and implement scalable solutions across routing, switching, wireless, and perimeter security. Your work will include deploying firewalls, VPNs, and cloud‑connected architectures, as well as reengineering core network services to support reliability, growth, and zero‑trust security initiatives.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain the company’s enterprise network (LAN, WAN, VPN) spanning routing, switching, wireless, and security platforms.
Maintain high availability, performance, and security across all network services through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and root‑cause analysis.
Manage firewalls, switches, routers, and network security systems.
Lead modernization initiatives, evaluating new technologies, improving network design, and driving scalable solutions that support organizational growth.
Own and resolve complex network incidents, ensuring reliable connectivity for users, applications, and mission‑critical systems.
Partner with security, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver integrated solutions, enforce standards, and support cross‑functional projects.
Develop and document network standards, runbooks, and best practices to strengthen operational consistency and supportability.
Support disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.
Manage vendors and service providers to ensure SLA compliance and the successful delivery of network services.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
CCNP‑level certification (Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent advanced networking certification).
5+ years of hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
Strong expertise with routing, switching, LAN/WAN technologies, VLAN design, DHCP/DNS services, NAT, and enterprise wireless systems.
Demonstrated experience with next‑generation firewalls (Fortigate & Meraki strongly preferred), VPN technologies, and network security integration.
Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, including packet analysis and log correlation.
Ability to create clear network diagrams, design documentation, and operational runbooks.
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem‑solving skills with a focus on root‑cause resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience engineering and supporting network infrastructure across multi‑site and global enterprise environments.
Hands‑on experience with load balancers, SD‑WAN solutions, or WAN optimization technologies.
Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP), hybrid connectivity, and zero‑trust architectures.
Experience automating network tasks using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
Background in vendor management, capacity planning, or network architecture design.
Working knowledge of ITIL processes and change management in enterprise environments.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, FDA cybersecurity guidance, or ISO standards.
