Job Title Data Analyst I – Quality Management (260002ZJ)
Overview The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) is seeking a Data Analyst I for Quality Management. The role analyzes policy, financial, and operational data to support data‑driven decisions and ensures data integrity and transparency.
Duties and Responsibilities
Intake requests for information and collaborate with requesters to determine business objectives or problem statements.
In collaboration with requesters, decide what, how much, and with whom data should be shared.
Develop reports and queries to extract data from various data warehouses and other sources.
Analyze data to identify patterns and trends using statistical or other techniques.
Verify data accuracy through code walk‑throughs, reviewing data patterns and performance indicators, and correcting inaccuracies in raw source data.
Test and validate solution requests prior to implementation.
Generate reports, visualizations, and presentations.
Conduct advanced predictive analytics, forecast modeling, and cost‑effectiveness analysis to support business decisions across the agency.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge and ability to perform data analysis and apply query design principles, data visualization, and statistical analysis using statistical techniques.
Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence techniques and technical tools to source, organize, manipulate data, and drive decisions.
Problem‑solving and critical thinking skills applied to complex matters.
Attention to detail and accuracy in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information.
Ability to use data analysis and business intelligence to interpret trends to support organizational activity.
Preparation of recommendations, reports and revisions based on business data analytics.
Effective communication and relationship building with colleagues, superiors, and stakeholders.
Knowledge of the methods and principles of statistical report writing and documentation.
Knowledge of project management and business planning.
Adaptability to new tools and concepts in Data Analytics.
Sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of agency programs, policies, and business processes.
Proficiency with agency‑specific data systems.
Advanced reporting and dashboard development techniques.
Understanding of state and federal reporting requirements.
Agency Mission DTA administers public assistance programs to low‑income residents of Massachusetts, aiming to provide high‑level service and empower individuals and families to achieve self‑sufficiency.
Compensation and Benefits Salary: $82,789.72 – $120,508.44 annually.

Schedule: Full‑time.
