Retail Sales AssociateHarman is looking for a Retail Sales Associate to join the team at the JBL Store in New York City. This position will have the objective of achieving retail store sales targets and executing on key retail marketing projects. Responsibilities also include providing exceptional customer experiences, performing operational tasks connected to opening and closing the store, as well as merchandising and assisting customers interested in hearing and learning about our products and the JBL Brand.
What You Will Do
- Welcome customers by greeting them and assisting them.
- Educate visitors on audio technology, specifically promoting JBL products and other Harman technology, brands, and history
- Advise customers by asking questions, determining needs, and presenting products and features in a mature consultative manner
- Assist customers in making selections by establishing and maintaining rapport, offering suggestions and product options based on customer needs, and providing quality audio demos
- Processes payments by totaling purchases, processing cash, or by using credit cards.
- Contributes to team effort by meeting/exceeding established sales goals, while exuding enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Assists customers with any product or service problems using company guidelines and by partnering with managers to resolve issues.
- Dealing with change and being results-oriented are core to success in this role.
What You Need
- Retail sales experience - Minimum of 3-5 years of retail sales experience. Previous experience in a large city, urban markets.
- Passion for Music and Consumer Audio Technology Experience working with consumer electronics or products in the retail industry preferred.
- Communication Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical. Ability to speak multiple languages is preferred.
- Engaging Personality Ability to engage customers in conversation, demonstrating maturity and connecting the employee to JBL & Harman products through skillful conversation and eloquence.
What Makes You Eligible
- Be willing to travel, if necessary, locally, 5% domestic.
- Be willing to work in a retail store environment in NYC.
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Salary Ranges: $ 47,250 - $ 69,300
