Project Manager | Lead Live Events from Concept to Execution

Location: Columbia, MD Schedule: Full-Time | Event Based Pay: $35.00 to $47.50/hr

EventEQ is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead live event projects from concept through execution. This role oversees logistics, technical planning, staffing coordination, and budget alignment while serving as the primary connection between clients and internal production teams.

What You'll Be Doing

Event Planning and Technical Coordination Coordinate all logistical and technical elements of assigned events Conduct site surveys to validate venue logistics, power distribution, and equipment requirements Manage technical drawings and ensure alignment across departments and clients

Client and Proposal Management Respond to client change requests and communicate updates internally Review formal proposals and issue documentation to clients as required Maintain consistent communication with client representatives Meet with planners and producers to strengthen long-term relationships

Resource and Logistics Oversight Collaborate with Logistics to confirm equipment and personnel availability Negotiate substitutions when original specifications are unavailable Engage Technical Directors and Managers to quote AVL packages, drawings, and labor Develop detailed grids for large breakout events including equipment, rooms, and support needs

Show Documentation and Execution Compile show books and production manuals including schedules, drawings, and technical data Travel and work on site to ensure continuity between planning and execution Maintain awareness of new and existing production technology

Team Advocacy and Leadership Lead cross-functional collaboration across departments Act as a positive advocate for EventEQ's processes, standards, and vision

What We're Looking For

Minimum of 3 years of technical background in rental and staging with show experience Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to manage shifting priorities in fast-paced environments Excellent communication and client relationship skills Detail-oriented and solutions-focused mindset Proven ability to lead and collaborate across multiple departments

Qualifications

Experience Preferred Computer knowledge including but not limited to MS Office, Vectorworks and or AutoCad program. 3 years technical background in rental/ staging show experience
