À propos
We are looking for a Systems Product Manager to lead the upstream product definition phase of our SaaS product lifecycle. This role is responsible for clarifying business requirements, analyzing competitor workflows, defining product scope, writing PRDs, documenting user flows, and preparing clear handoff materials for the Delivery PM, Tech Lead, Design, and QA teams.
Direct experience with beauty, wellness, salon, spa, barber, massage, nail, or appointment-based service businesses is strongly preferred, especially in areas such as booking, client management, staff scheduling, memberships, gift cards, payments, or customer communications.
Compensation is negotiable and will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, product ownership capability, SaaS background, technical understanding, documentation ability, and bilingual communication skills.
Responsibilities1. Upstream Requirement Definition
* Gather and clarify business requirements from stakeholders.
* Define the business problem, target users, scope, out-of-scope items, dependencies, assumptions, and open questions.
* Convert ambiguous business ideas into structured product requirements.
* Identify which decisions need business confirmation before development.
* Help control product scope before work enters development.
2. PRD and Product Handoff
* Write PRDs, user flows, workflow diagrams, acceptance criteria, and product notes.
* Document business rules, edge cases, permission boundaries, status meanings, and user-facing messages.
* Prepare product handoff materials for the Delivery PM, Tech Lead, Design, and QA teams.
* Maintain records of confirmed decisions, unresolved questions, assumptions, and scope changes.
* Ensure product requirements are clear enough to support development planning and testing preparation.
3. Competitor and Workflow Analysis
* Analyze competitor products in the beauty and wellness SaaS space.
* Compare workflows and identify product opportunities, gaps, and risks.
* Translate competitor findings into product recommendations and scope decisions.
* Use competitor research to support product direction, but avoid copying competitor workflows without internal validation.
4. Pre-Development Handoff Materials
* Prepare clear product context, business rules, user flows, and open questions for the Tech Lead before engineering review.
* Prepare acceptance criteria, key scenarios, and edge cases so QA and the Delivery PM can understand what needs to be tested and delivered.
* Update the PRD when the Tech Lead, QA, or Delivery PM identifies missing information or unclear product logic.
* This role does not own technical solution decisions, QA execution, UAT scheduling, or release decisions.
5. Prototype and Documentation Review
* Review low-fidelity wireframes, HTML prototypes, or product diagrams to ensure they match confirmed business rules.
* Identify when a prototype includes unconfirmed scope or unclear product behavior.
* Turn prototype questions into business questions, product decisions, or handoff notes.
* Maintain product documentation so business, design, engineering, QA, and delivery teams are aligned.
Requirements
* 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or related SaaS role.
* Experience writing PRDs, user flows, acceptance criteria, product notes, or functional specifications.
* Ability to understand APIs, databases, permissions, integrations, and backend workflows at a product level.
* Experience with SaaS workflows such as booking, payments, subscriptions, refunds, customer accounts, permissions, or notifications is preferred.
* Strong written communication and documentation skills.
* Ability to work with business stakeholders, design, engineering, QA, and delivery teams.
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment with evolving requirements.
* Comfortable using AI tools to support research, workflow mapping, documentation, and competitor analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in beauty/wellness SaaS, appointment scheduling, merchant platforms, marketplaces, or vertical SaaS.
* Experience with payment-related workflows such as subscriptions, saved cards, deposits, refunds, disputes, checkout, or payouts.
* Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS, role permissions, account identity, and audit trails.
* Experience creating workflow diagrams, state diagrams, sequence diagrams, or ERD-style documentation.
* Mandarin-English bilingual ability is preferred.
* Mobile app product experience is a plus.
What This Role Does Not Own

* API, database, schema, webhook, or infrastructure implementation decisions.
* Daily engineering task tracking.

* UAT scheduling or final UAT sign-off.
* Release checklist ownership.
* Final business Go / No-Go decision.
